Make no mistake, fast food is extremely unhealthy. So to what extent should the fast food industry be responsible for the health of its customers? Everyone is usually on one side or another in this debate - anti-capitalistic, or pure capitalism. So, we must find some middle ground. A mixture of these opinions is the best option for this extremely important issue. Fast food companies need to be regulated, to a degree that is. The actual nutritional value of fast food is pretty much unknown. We need to have nutritional data on the container or wrapping of the product. With this data, people will be constantly reminded of the dangers of this food and will have no excuse whatsoever for their health problems caused by eating this food. Companies should not be made to supply healthy food, as doing so would violate the very ideas our country was founded on. We shall only make them supply info on what you eat, and leave the decision of eating it to the consumer. This plan is extremely simple and effective. It is the most logical decision for our country to make in this issue. It is the least expensive - it does not bring in vile socialistic laws into our society, and it gets the job done how it should be done. This is the land of opportunity, so once we take the opportunity to run your own business as you see fit, what would stop us from making another socialistic law? This nutritional data will be very inexpensive for the fast food companies to implement, having no to little effect on prices. It will allow the consumer to make a truely logical decision on if they should eat that food. This is due the info listed on the package. This effective and painless plan is the best one on the table. There is no doubt that this plan would work. It finds middle ground for both sides. It will protect consumers from the unknown. It will urge fast food companies to make their food healthier. It will keep our basic freedoms in check and alive. It is inexpensive to implement and deploy. This is the plan we must not only consider, but to put into effect immediately.
